Scallops

Maurice Alley comes from a long line of fishermen from Beals Island, Maine. The Jonesport-Beals Island is known as a hotspot for lobsters, scallops, clams, crabs and many other Maine delicacies.  In years past it was also a prime ground fishing port.

Maurice’s son Preston also fishes, as do his grandchildren. He was a long-time member of Maine’s Scallop Advisory Council and was instrumental in coming up with improvements to Maine’s state water scallop fishery.
